A sudden and huge change in my life has recently caused me to shift my reading list from fiction to “HOW THE F*&# DO I NOW MAKE MONEY?” Basically, I quit my 9 to 5 without a backup plan. What is my new plan? To become a badass at making money. When I was in my job, I was getting ready to be a badass at making money, but the job was too stressful to make the money worth it and in the end I quit before I got to any real money.
Basic Principle of You Are A Badass At Making Money
The basic idea of this book is that you are in your own way. You tell yourself that you are not good enough. You don’t put yourself out there to be in a position to make more money. Whether it is asking for a promotion or quitting your stressful job and doing something on your own, like I am doing, most of it is a mental state.
Manifesting Money
My big takeaway from this book is how to manifest money. I don’t believe on sitting on a couch and thinking your way to success. That is not what I am talking about. It’s about making a montra and reminding yourself why you want to make money, determining how much is necessary, and making this a regular ritual.
The way I like to think about manifestation, specifically of something like money, is that everything you do it is in the back of your mind. And because it is in the back of your mind, you have no choice to make every decision based on these principals. I have already been doing this my whole life (I’d rather buy a house than that Louis Vuitton bag); however, You Are A Badass At Making Money has given me ideas on how to be more specific in my manifestations.
Other Books By Jen Sincero
You Are a Badass at Making Money is not the first book Sincero has written, and not the last either. She started with “You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life” and grew the franchise of a total of four books. I’m a bit put off by authors who write a variety of self help, but in this case, when taken with a grain of salt, I’ll allow it.
Final Thoughts
Expect to see many more books like this on this blog in the near future. I have most recently written about “The Little Book of Common Sense Investing” but this is not the end. And not until this blog or other means of income allow me to slow down, I will continue to manifest money through books like these.
