The Princess Switch: Person Switching Movie With Love And The Holidays

The Princess Switch
The Princess Switch: Person Switching Movie with Love and the holidays

A new movie watching podcast I started listening to (write up will be coming soon), has brought The Princess Switch to me, just in time for the holiday season. I am not a big holiday season person. Decorating for the holidays is my boyfriend’s job at our house. A friend always invites us to their house for festivities, we never do the hosting ourselves. I live in California where it does not snow and snow men are out of the question. And I could not care less if we have a Christmas tree.

But when it does come to the cheesy holiday movies, I am always down for a viewing party, either alone with my other cheesy holiday movie watching friends. This movie is all about that cheesy holiday love that myself and many others love to watch. Add a bit of body switching and mix in in love and Christmas and many of us will be curled on the couch or baking cookies. Making this another great holiday movie with all the mushiness many of us have come to love and rely on each holiday season.

The Premise of The Princess Switch

There are plenty of movies about people switching places, both magically, like in Freaky Friday, Big, or My Name. In some of the people switching places movies, people are the same person, like Mrs. Doubtfire and She’s The Man. And some of these movies are with people who have never met who decide the other one has the better life and therefore they switch places, like in this movie. Many of the body switching movies focus on a love of some sort. But few focus on being a cheesy holiday movie, like this one, making it unique in its own way. Plus, it’s a cheesy holiday movie, what more can you expect.

As the name suggests, one of the women who swaps places is a princess (or, more specifically, a princess to be) and the other is an ordinary everyday baker, both played by Vanessa Hudgens. As the princess is set to marry the prince, she decides to switch places with the look alike local baker to get a feel for her new kingdom. And the baker, of course, has interest in learning what it feels like to be a princess to be. Of course, each falls in love with the main man in the other’s life, giving the movie the twist that everyone saw coming.

Cheesy Holiday Movies

I do not seek out cheesy holiday movies, cheesy holiday movies seek me out. Just like I like trashy television shows with a martini, I also like cheesy holiday movies with a glass of red wine during the holiday season. During the holiday seasonI usually find myself watching a number of Christmas theme movies while I am wrapped in a blanket and there is always a glass of red wine. Which ever holiday movie crosses my path is always the best one at the moment. Regardless of how bad half of them turn out to be. So, expect more cheesy Christmas theme movies to appear here on MadFind this, and every, holiday season moving forward.

Final Thoughts

There is nothing special about this movie per se; however, there is always something fun about the holiday season and watching one of the many cheesy holiday movies that are easy to find this time of year. This movie fits in with the movies I like to watch in December without any disappointment. Just add it to the list of other background holiday movies this year, along with the two other sequels.
