I had watched Swordfish when it came out back in 2001. I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now, 19 years later. It’s another action movie. It’s has an interesting computer hacking element that is somewhat engaging. But the logic behind the hacking makes little to zero sense. And making someone hack something you need while forcing them to receive a blowjob. What is the point of this? So, why am I watching a movie I know I won’t like. You guessed it: How Did This Get Made?
The Visual of Swordfish
The filter on this movie is an odd choice. It adds no real significance to the movie. Perhaps it was a “we are now in the 2000’s and this is what is going to be the norm now.” Or maybe it was “this is an edgy movie.” Regardless, no. Plain no!
The Cast of Swordfish
The only thing saving this movie is the people on the movie poster. I like a good John Travolta. Halle Berry is a beautiful strong women. Don Cheadle is always a good time. And ever since Wolverine, I can’t get enough Hugh Jackman. I’m not saying these were their finest performances. I’m not so thrilled about putting Halle Berry in a bra and underwear for the sake of putting her in a bra and underwear, but if you are going to do it, I’m glad it’s Halle Berry. All I’m saying is that I enjoy them, weird styling choices and all.
If Swordfish comes up on my radar as a movie to watch again, I’m just going to say no. A hard no!
