The Bride Test: A Steamy Story of Love and Sex

The Bride Test: Hoang, Helen: A steamy story of love and sex

The Bride Test comes off as a chick lit novel like all the others. And I can’t say I’m not a fan of chick lit. Which is why I picked up this steamy story of love and sex.

Generally, chick lit goes like this, boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love, but there is something keeping them apart. But in the end they live happily ever after. And this is not completely untrue; however, it must also be added that it is a steamy story of love and sex. And sex parts are very detailed.

The Premise of The Bride Test

A mother goes to Vietnam to find a bride for her autistic son, Khai, and comes back with a “toilet cleaner”, Esme. But a beautiful toilet cleaner at that. Esme lives in Khai’s house and is doing all the things that she thinks she needs to get him to marry her. And the sexual tension is real. When they finally have sex for the first time, it is deep and passionate.

It is at this point the story shifts a little. It starts as a story about sex and once their relationship hits that level, it then becomes about love and if a “cold heart” is capable of loving someone.

The Steamy Story of Love and Sex

The Bride Test is about love on the surface but I am 100% convinced that the purpose of this book was to write about sex. The description of the sexual tension in the first part of the book was detailed. When they finally have sex, the sex scene lasted for two hours, as I was listening to the book. The detailed on who touches what and who breaths how. My goodness, it was hot and heavy and little too much for me.

Final Thoughts

This book was not for me. I’m not a fan of a steamy story of love and sex. I can deal with some love. I can deal with some sex. And I can deal with some love AND sex. But this book was way too much. I heard much more detail about human bodies than I really care too.
