Dear Netflix. Please keep making tiny little gems like this. Just like Ginny And Georgia, I don’t need anything too complex or crazy. I don’t need elaborate stories or expensive sets. Just like The Sinner, what I need is a fun and exciting storyline with characters I am rooting for regardless of their position. I love this storyline of southern charm and lies. Crazy lies. Keep it up! Love, Madeline.
Premise of Ginny And Georgia
A small family, a mother and her two children, move into the small quaint town of Wellsbury in New England. Georgia, the mother in the family and the queen of southern charm and lies, is trying to determine how to continue her life and better it for her children. Part of this is figuring out how to get the money from her late husband’s estate. Regardless of her experience, she also is working for the Mayor who she is also starting relations with causing a whole storyline regarding this scandal.
Ginny is Georgia’s daughter who is trying to figure out who she is, who her mother is, and digs up the past. Ginny is torn between two young men and their love for her, while she doesn’t really know what she wants. Her best friend has her own romance issues and the rest of the girls in the cliq are pulled into all the drama.
There are so many plot lines, characters, and twists, it’s hard not to get pulled into the story. You can’t forget Austin and his own story lines. Poor Austin, the youngest child, is left in the dust but not before facing a bully at school.
Final Thoughts
I’m looking forward to the day season two comes out of this Southern Charm and Lies. I will be front and center of my television set with a glass of wine and whatever take out I am craving that day. I watched season one in a matter of a few days and will likely start and complete season two just as quickly. Netflix, just like Ginny and Georgia escaping Texas, here I come!
