The story starts with a note. Just a two word note. Little does Hannah know, she is about to find out who she really married. From the time the note appears on the doorstep of her house boat, she is brought down a tunnel to find out what she got herself into by marrying a man she thought she knew.
Premise of The Last Thing He Told Me
Hannah thought she had the perfect life until she receives a note from her husband and delivered by a twelve year old girl she has never met telling her to “Protect her.” Hannah knows the note is referring to her step daughter, Bailey, but has no clue what the note is referring to. As more hints reveal themselves she ends up halfway across the country and starting to understand who she really married.
You Won’t Guess The Ending
As we start to understand who she really married, we start to understand who the important characters are. In the end, we discover that some things cannot be reversed and sometimes what seems like it will end like a Hollywood ending, will not.
Final Thoughts
This book is worth the read, but only as one of many of the year. When we start to learn who she really married, it comes out as a bit surprising but not so much that it is a must read. In some cases, the non surprising books, such as The Wives, can sometimes come out as the better than the ones that come out of left field.
