Two Cartoons About Remarkable Mythical Creatures

I spent last Friday night watching two cartoons about remarkable mythical creatures. It started with watching Missing Link on Hulu, then just like all subscription services do, it referred me to watching Abominable. I was taken away two two magical stories about remarkable mythical creatures and I was not mad about it. Both very cute and both made my Friday. Thank you, remarkable mythical creatures!

Missing Link

The Missing Link - remarkable mythical creatures

Missing Link is about finding Sasquatch and reuniting him with his Yeti cousins in the Himalayas. In doing so, Sir Lionel Frost, who is an investigator of remarkable mythical creatures, dresses him up as a “man” and dub him “Mr. Link” or as he dubs himself, Susan Link. The story brings them through all kinds of adventures and eventually finds themselves in the Himalayas with the unfriendly but also remarkable mythical creatures, the Yeti, and Susan decides this is not where he belongs after all.

Abominable

Abominable - About remarkable mythical creatures

Abominable is a similar story to Missing Link of remarkable mythical creatures on an adventure to find family. The movie starts with a young Yeti (once again) in a laboratory in Shanghai. The creature is able to escape where the teenager, Yi, finds the Yeti and decides to help it get back to its family on Mount Everest. Similar to Missing Link, the rest of the movie is an adventure with the young Yeti, Yi, and her two cousins to Mount Everest.

Final Thoughts

Both these movies were really heartwarming and were a great compliment to the other as a back to back movie night. Where they the most amazing animations I’ve seen in my whole life? No, but on a relaxing movie night like this was, it doesn’t matter a whole lot. What matters is getting lost in the story and enjoying the two stories of remarkable mythical creatures even though these were cartoon stories intended to be enjoyed by children, not a cartoon for adults.

Madeline

As a curious person, Madeline is constantly consuming new content. This blog is her way of putting her thoughts about this content on paper.

She also loves interesting and delicious food and snuggling with her chihuahua.
