I have written about Karin Slaughter books before. Her books are crazy thrillers that twist and turn and flip the reader upside down. I accidentally started midway through Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent series. And now on my second book in the series (completely out of order) I have started my new Will Trent obsession.
Premise of Fractured
The book starts with a wealthy couple coming home to an open door. When they go inside they find a bloody scene full with foot prints to their daughter’s bedroom. Inside the bedroom they find a man with a knife standing over, what the mother thinks is her daughter and attacks the man.
Once the cops are called and they start investigating the scene they have come to the conclusion that the girl is not the daughter but the girl is the daughter’s best friend. The man was not attacking her but trying to help her from an attack from someone else. And the daughter is missing.
The rest of the book is about tracking down the missing girl and why someone took her. It reveals manipulative teachers and a backwards system.
More On Will Trent And The Series
As I mentioned, I started on the Will Trent series accidentally with The Last Widow. I had read Karin Slaughter before and thought this was just another book of her’s. Little did I know, not only did I open a new can of Karin Slaughter worms but I opened a new can of Will Trent worms, starting my new Will Trent obsession.
Will Trent who had all the odds against him. Who is muscular, handsome, and smooth. Who is unsure of himself. Who was in foster care and was taken in by a police officer leading his way into his current profession. Who deals with severe dyslexia even though he is required to write reports and read clues. He is a mystery and yet the story revolves completely around him.
Final Thoughts
I’ve read two books in this series so far. But it’s a good thing that there are eleven more books in this series that I have not read. It may take some time, but I am determined to get through all of them.
