I recently took a trip to New York City from California, in looking for an airplane movie, found Dash and Lily. And unbeknownst to me, it is the perfect movie for a flight to New York City. I downloaded it because I love to watch light warm hearted zone out movies on any flight and that forsure was Dash and Lily.
Premise of Dash and Lily
It all starts with a book in a bookstore. Not just an ordinary book, but a journal with handwriting. While shopping in said bookstore, Dash finds a book with some clues. These clues blatantly point him to a cool teenage girl whom he has no clue who she is in addition with directions on how to return the book to her. And he plays her game.
At this point, there is banter back and forth. She is quirky and cool and he is smitten and she is smitten back. As you can possibly imagine, there are highs. There are lows. And in the end… well I probably don’t need to tell you the end.
What Makes Dash and Lily the Perfect Movie for a Flight to New York City
In addition to being the light hearted movie I like when flying, it also took place all over New York City. And when I say it took place alllllll over New York City. Even at my 11pm taxi ride to my hotel, I was pointing out all the sites from the movie and got more excited than I possibly could have without watching that movie directly before. A Very Punchable Face by my love, Colin Jost was a great book for New York City, but it does not come close to Dash and Lily.
Final Thoughts
I honestly and full heartedly loved this movie regardless of the demographics being intended for someone twenty years younger than myself. If this type of young adult movie does not offend you and you are planning a trip to New York City (my guess is it does not have the same effect if you live there or near there) then this is a perfect movie for a flight to New York City.
