High Fidelity Reimagined (By Someone) on Hulu

High Fidelity (Hulu) with Zoe Kravitz in 2020 | Tv series 2016 ...

I do not feel cool enough to watch the show, High Fidelity. Zoe Kravitz, playing the main character, Rob, is just too cool for my skin. She is so pretty and just… so cool! She is so cool that she is constantly commenting on how uncool she is. The situations she is in are always a bummer but she just gives up and doesn’t care. How much cooler could she get? And in fact everyone in this show is too cool.

The High Fidelity show follows the High Fidelity movie pretty closely, with a few added details. The biggest detail change being the main character is now a women, not a man. The relationships in the show are also a bit more complicated and the story lines have a bit more depth. But although the show has a few more details, almost all the details of the movie have been included.

It takes a lot of guts to put off a reboot, especially one as successful as the High Fidelity movie. The movie may not have won an Oscar for best film, but it holds itself as a cult classic. And no one wants to see a cult classic remade into who knows what. But they did a great job keeping the same feel. Straying off the original script just enough to give it something new.

Zoe Kravitz plays the main character in the series where her mother, Lisa Bonet, played the cool and beautiful muse in the movie. I feel as though this connection made Kravitz a great selection for the part. I felt the coolness and the believability that they are this character oozing out of both her and John Cusack. Perhaps if you play them side by side, the two will mimic each other. Hmmm… I wonder if I bought or rented the movie when I watched it a few months ago.
