Ford v Ferrari has been on my to watch list since the day I first heard about it. I am not in the slightest a car enthusiast; however, between the cast (hello Matt Damon and Christian Bale) and knowing the basic difference between a Ford and a Ferrari, I was intrigued. And for those who live under a rock, the difference between a Ford and a Ferrari is a couple hundred thousand dollars.
The Premise Of Ford v Ferrari
Ford v. Ferrari is based on the true story of Ford building a car to race in a race against many other types of cars, but most of all, the car to beat is Ferrari. The story is based around two men, Ken Miles played by Christian Bale who is the driver and Carroll Shelby played by Matt Damon who is the builder of the car. The two and a half hours are full of “can he do it?”s and “I don’t know about this”s but that is the movie. That is pretty much it.
What I Thought I Was Getting Myself Into
I knew there where two big actors in this movie. What I thought was that one drove for Ford and one drove for Ferrari. What I thought this movie was about is their rivalry. What this movie really was about was just Ford. That’s it. There was not much Ferrari until the end.
Final Thoughts
I enjoyed this movie enough to not write terrible things about it. For some, I am sure this was a great movie. But to a non car enthusiest like myself, I thought it was fine. That’s it, just fine.
