To close the year, I am bringing a list of my favorite of the latest books to read from 2021.It is near the end of December and I have read over seventy books so far this year, many which were released this year. It is time to say goodbye to 2021 and look forward to the up coming new reads in 2022.
The Four Winds
A Kristin Hannah book is always on top of my list and never disappoints, and her latest book, released in 2021, fits right in. It is a historical fiction book about an event there is not much fiction about, the dust bowl. Hannah brought me right in with the family and made me wonder what decisions I would make if in the same predicament.
The Lost Apothecary
The Lost Apothecary is another historical fiction of a time that is not regularly brought up in books, the late 1800s in London. The book bounces back and fourth between present day of a women who discovers an antique bottle in the Thames river and the 1800s, when the bottle was used to kill bad men. The story around this small bottle is so enticing it makes The Lost Apothecary one of the best books to read from 2021.
The Push
The last line of The Push is what makes The Push one of the most terrifying books of 2021. A women looking forward to having a baby realizes that motherhood is not what she was expecting. As the years roll on, motherhood does not get any easier and it is difficult to tell if it is truly a tough job or if her daughter is seriously evil.
The Rose Code
Jumping back into historical fiction, The Rose Code shares a time period as many other mediocre historical fiction books, World War 2. But unlike most of these mediocre book, the topic of Enigma machines raised this book above many other others making The Rose Code one of the books to read from 2021.
